Judy Blank is back on the stages. With a suitcase full of new songs about small luck, Louisiana and trying to find your way around the world.

When The Storm Hits, Blanks debut album released in 2014, received a four-star review in OOR. The colorfully completed piano songs, in which strong melodies and a powerful, authentic voice set the tone, also proved to work well live. She played at North Sea Jazz, Lowlands and Pinkpop, was on show at De Wereld Draait Door and traveled later in the year through the country for her first club tour, which did not miss venues like Paradiso and Tivoli. She finished the tour as one of the closing acts at the Songbird Festival.

In the meantime she has taken a slightly different approach with her music, which everyone with a little bit of a hard feeling comes in. Armed with guitar she sets a different sound than before. Many of the songs are inspired by her recent travels to America. There she played in intimate settings at open mic nights in various bars and cafes in Louisiana, where she soon became talk of the day. In no time she was asked to play at the local radio station and she had new gigs at it. She also dreamed away at shows from her biggest sources of inspiration: folk / country duo The Wood Brothers and Ben Howard. She met, lived, took the time to grow; and you can hear that. The texts are more mature, more experienced and more honest than ever. With her new songs she shares her fantasies on a wooden porch in Lake Arthur, she lets you taste sugar-fritters in New Orleans and she sings daily troubles with a voice that gives you goose bumps.

Her album 'Morning Sun' was released in September, 2018.
